Formula

Benzalkonium Chloride – 0.02%
Benzocain – 20%
Zinc Chloride – 0.1%

Inactive ingredients include: Allantoin, carbomer, edetate disodium, mentha piperota oil, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 60, propylene glycol, propyl gallate, water, pvp, sodium saccharin, sorbic acid, and stearyl alcohol.

The list of ingredients is made up of an oral antiseptic, pain reliever, and astringent. These ingredients are for treating the affected area by cleaning and numbing it. They are also good for helping against infection that may occur.

Instructions

You will need to cut open the tip of tube on score mark. This product could be used on children and adults over the age of 2. Children under 12 years should be supervised while using this product. It is recommended to apply the gel to the affected area up to 4 times a day or as directed by a dentist or doctor.

Orajel Mouth Sore Gel is sold online for many different prices. The lowest we were able to find was $7.04. It is a 0.42 ounce tube. We are unsure how long it will last but feel this is a pretty fair price.

You should not use this product if you have a history of allergy to local anesthetics such as procaine, butacaine, benzocaine, or other “caine” anesthetics. You should not use more than directed or for more than 7 days unless you were directed by a doctor. You should stop taking and consult your doctor if your sores do not improve or worsen over 7 days.
